Izamal was is my next destination, the particular thing about this town is that it's truly all yellow in the core of the town. As if it was an egg with the yolk in the middle and just like that the culture is concentrated in that core, where you can visit the second biggest atrium in the catholic world (just after Saint Peter square in Rome) in one of the oldest convents in the Yucatan Peninsula. You might think that the reason for having this yellow color all over the core of the city had a deep religious meaning or maybe one that is connected to a rich history but, it was a matter of practicality. You see as the city can get quite hot during the summer the inhabitants decided to use a color then would relatively fresh and since white was too reflective, they decided for yellow. The market across the market is one of those perfect places to savor the local cuisine of the region with out the high price of more touristy restaurants but if that is what you are looking for you just have to walk a couple of blocks and find yourself in a very nice restaurant with a very relaxing patio.
